Honda BRV Wheel Alignment Where to Go
We bought a BRV last April 30,and after 15 days the steering was pulling to the right. I brought it to our Honda Greenhills Dealer and was told to take it to Honda Mgallanes as Greenhills doesn't have a wheel alignment facility. We brought it to Magallanes and it took them 1 whole day to correct it but the BRV still pulls to the right, lesser now though. The BRV now rocks left to right slightly and feels the steering is too tight. The bad thing is they charged us P1,700 for the lousy job , saying warranty for alignment is only 9 days from the day the BRV is bought.
Does anyone do their wheel alignment outside the dealer? Ive heard from The mechanics that the BRV is difficult to align for them. I might be able to get some help where to go, what shops to go, to fix my wheel alignment.. I live in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. My car agent at Greenhills (named Lorenzo) has burried his head in the sand.
Thanks in advance.

Why There are Political Dynasties in the Philippines
Political dynasties in the Philippines can trace their origins to the Spanish colonization.
By Mario Alvaro Limos | A day ago

The May 2019 elections shone a light on political dynasties and how they can collapse in a single day. There is so much talk about political dynasties that youd think that these are fairly recent phenomena, something that appeared just after the Philippines gained independence in 1946.
A closer look at history says otherwise. In fact, it is quite possible that some Filipino lawmakers today have ancestors from 300 years ago who passed down government positions to their progeny.
A political dynasty is a family of politicians who serve in one place or country and are able to pass or extend government positions to kin for the purpose of expanding and maintaining its hold on power.
How Political Dynasties in the Philippines Emerged
It was during the time of Spanish colonialism in the Philippines when the foundations for political dynasties were laid. When the Spaniards conquered the islands in the 16th century, they found that there were thousands of communities all over the archipelago, each led by a datu or rajah.
The Spaniards did not really conquer the entire archipelago on their own; that was impossible. In order to subjugate the peoples of the islands, they enlisted the help of these datus. The Spaniards established reduccion, a system where they put entire populations under one centralized government. It eliminated the barangays that were headed by datus. In exchange for giving up their barangays and encouraging their people to resettle in the new towns called cabecera, the datus were offered positions in local government as gobernadorcillio and cabeza de barangay.
The Spaniards knew that, in order to keep the populace under their control, they needed to keep the former datus happy. They were given the status of principalia, a member of the local nobility. The principalia were given houses in prominent locations in the cabecera, which was either in front or beside the church. Up to now, houses beside or in front of a church are considered prime locations in any community, signifying wealth and prominence of social status.
Members of the Principalia in the Philippines, circa 1880

As gobernadorcillios and cabezas de barangay, the former datus, now principalia, were charged with the responsibility of collecting tributes from their former subjects. They also selected people who will render forced labor. These arrangements became susceptible to abuse, and many principalia used their position to extort, threaten, and demand excess payments from the people.
According to Abinales and Amoroso, the Spaniards never wanted to disenfranchise the Indios, so they introduced the concept of land ownership so they can legally buy land from the natives. But the principalia saw an opportunity in this new idea. They sold and donated to the friars the public lands that were originally tilled by their subjects, effectively enriching themselves and gaining more political capital and favor from the religious orders.
Apart from these excesses, the principalia enjoyed official benefits and privileges. They were exempted from paying tributes, taxes, or doing forced labor. Lastly, the status of being principalia was hereditaryincluding the government positions they held.
Because of these things, the members of the principalia became powerful, influential, and wealthy politicians who controlled vast tracts of agricultural land.
Although it was the Spaniards who inadvertently laid the ground for the contemporary political dynasties in the Philippines, it was the Americans who actually formalized it.
According to Professor Roland Simbulan of the University of the Philippines, political dynasties in the Philippines started during the American occupation. They introduced elections to the Philippines, but only gave suffrage rights to members of the principalia. Furthermore, government positions were also limited to Americans and members of the principalia. This resulted in the widening gap between rich and poor Filipinos, especially with the principalia working in politics for their own interest.
Today, there many Filipino political clans who can trace their ancestry to the principalia who served during the American colonial period. According to University of Londons School of Oriental and African Studies, in 2016, 74 percent of elected members of the House of Representatives come from political dynasties. The recent 2019 midterm elections reminded us that although political dynasties are entrenched, they are not permanent. They can also end as long as there are relevant and credible forces that would challenge their status quo.

Solar Battery Maintainers
Ermat's car these days is more of a garage queen, and when she drives, puro short trips pa.
I noticed na tamad mag crank, the battery has just lapsed its warranty period of 15 months.
We moved and there is no easy access anymore to a wall outlet for an AC-based maintainer so I charged the battery by disconnecting and bringing it inside the house. Load test is OK
After a few months ganun nanaman, so I researched and many US-based people with several cars do maintain their batteries with solar products.
Wala pa kasi akong nakitang thread with the similar topic so I opened this one.
I created a longer wire run from the batt up to the solar panel kasi the included clamps are too short, and the included cigarette lighter socket can't be used as the socket has no power if the key is off.

Anyone familiar with Linksys LRT-224?
It's a dual WAN router where I can connect two different internet sources into 1 router.
I have both PLDT Fibr and Converge in my office. I tried to connect Converge to the LRT224 but I cannot get an internet connection. Di ko pa na-try to connect PLDT, ayaw ko muna galawin PLDT since dyan naka-connect office network ko, ayaw ko muna galawin.
The Converge internet, kaka-install palang last week so hindi din ako familiar sa settings nya. But when I reset the supplied router, nawalan na ng internet. Need to call their hotline and have them remotely reconfigure the router.

Honda CVT transmission concerns, have you had any? How did the dealership handle it?
Hi
Coming from a manual car that I've been using for decades, I am planning on getting a CVT Honda because of the traffic.
I've done a bit of research in this forum and elsewhere and have found some people have had problems with their CVT.
Hearing that replacement transmission is going for around 300 thousand is making me consider getting a manual again despite the traffic and manual problems of master/slave cylinder breaking. It is also encouraging me more to get Honda's extended warranty.
Anyways, hoping we could somehow consolidate CVT concerns so it becomes easier for Honda CVT owners to find solutions to their CVT problems (if any), join forces so that dealing with the CASA becomes easier and hopefully more affordable.
1) How many KM have you run your Honda CVT? What model and year is your unit? Has it manifested any CVT problems? Did you complete follow the PMS 40k km CVT fluid change?
2) Did you bring your concern to your dealership? Which branch? And what did they do for you? Was it still under warranty?
3) To those who have had their CVT completely replaced brand new by the dealership (which branch) under warranty, were you able to do it under warranty without any issues or delay?
4) To those who have had their CVT completey replace brand new by the dealership OUT OF WARRANTY, how much did it cost you?
5) If I wanted to have my CVT fluid changed every year (20k) vs the usual every 2 years (40k) to help extend the life of the CVT, will Honda service/dealer/SPA, actually do it or will they say they did it and just charge me anyway? How much extra would this cost just for the CVT fluid and labor?
6) If I wanted to change my CVT fluid on my own more often while the car is still under warranty to save on labor cost, will this void my warranty?
7) When replacing the car battery, I've read the the computer of the CVT needs to be reset, how much will this cost for Honda to do this?
Thank you very much.

Recommended Car Alarm Installer
Good day all,
Would like to get your recommended car alarm installer. Yung maayos at pulido gumawa. Pakabit ko ung basic Viper alarm to an old Ford Sport Trac.
Kaya ba ni Jemson/Jameson? Are there other notable alternatives? I was thinking of bringing it to either Reys or Wizzard Electrical. But would seriously consider other recommendation/s.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Rets

Mixing Brake fluid
Sorry po, medyo old school question.
During my younger days (hmmm, 10 years ago)
Kapag magdadagdag ka ng brake fluid, always use Prestone. Kapag National kasi, may chance na mamaga yung mga rubber seals ng brakes.
Not unless National talaga gamit mong brake fluid, pero still di mo siya pwede dagdagan Prestone.
So nowadays... May mga Toyota/Honda etc branded brake fluids na gamit sa mga casa...
If you want to add brake fluid by yourself, safe pa din ba Prestone?

Pinapa sweldo natin both MMDA and LGU traffic guys.
