Congestions at Welcome Rotonda

If you will pass by Welcome Rotonda in Quezon Avenue. You will always encounter congestions because cars from Mayon street is crossing to Ramirez St. perpendicular to Quezon Avenue causing traffic, and you can see cars taking U-turn coming from Banawe side.

Can't they just put barrier so cars from Mayon st. can't cross into Ramirez St? The cars can take D-tuazon st or Blumentritt st or Maceda st instead. And cars coming from Banawe side can take U-turns before Welcome Rotonda.

Ano pagtingin nyo?

Where to buy Dashmats / Dashboard Covers in Cebu?

$

I wanted to install a dashmat / dashboard cover on my 2007 Starex and I was wondering where do you buy this?

Or do you in fact have this custom made from a tailoring shop or something?

Also my Starex's tint has faded due to age so it gets really hot even with the aircon on full blast thus the idea of a dash mat / dashboard cover.

I've been told this helps with the heat. Or I'm understanding this incorrectly and the dash mat / dashboard covers are actually just for protection of the plastic dashboard?

I'm from Cebu by the way so ideas on where to buy or have this built locally would be very much appreciated. :D

Thanks.

Buying Cars with Damage from Bank Repo

Hi, Hingi lang po sana ako dito ng opinion or kung meron may mga first hand experience na bumili ng meron damage/issue from Bank Repo. yung mga ganun po ba is 'As Is' and hindi na triny galawin or irepair ng banko para tumaas yung appraisal value?
I'm planning to buy a 2019 model, 5k palang ang mileage, ininspect napo namin and okay naman lahat maliban sa bangga sa harap and likod, pinaestimate ko po at mga 10k yung gagastusin for repair ng bangga sa harap and likod. And meron din konting bent yung condenser dahil tinamaan, pero sabi naman ng kakilala kong mechanic is di naman daw magkakaproblem yon(see attached).
Since bago pa, I expect na wala pong ibang maging issues pero natatakot padin ako.
I'm still thinking if this is a Good buy or maghanap nalang ako ng unit ng mas maayos and wala ng paparepair.

Pag-iisyu ng driver’s license mas hihigpitan ng LTO

Pag-iisyu ng driver’s license mas hihigpitan ng LTO | ABS-CBN News

Old news it seems (posted on 10-24-2019) but I could not find a post here discussing the abolition of the Professional and Non-Professional categories as stated in the ABS-CBN video.

Tried searching through old posts and the only remotely related to this article is this one: https://www.tsikot.com/forums/traffi...84/index2.html

What's had me worried though is the driving school requirement. The video did not go into detail but it seems those of us who've driven for quite some time are going to have to go to driving school or get additional training before we can renew our driver's license? Or was that for new drivers only?

I'm also worried about the scheme wherein your license categories is dictated by the passenger capacity of your car i.e. 8 passengers or less is one category (BM1) while 8 passengers or more is another category (B1M2). I drive a Picanto and a Starex so does this mean I have to pay for two different licenses?

Inverter freezer, please recommend

Hi Sirs. We are shopping for freezers with inverter technology (mura na ngayon!)

Abenson recommends Condura, but their forte are aircons po diba? Is LG a good brand - this is what I am eyeing (LG GR-V204SLBT 6.0 CU.FT. SINGLE DOOR UPRIGHT FREEZER P14,595) in Anson's but the shelf space is so small.

Most for sale are chest freezers (not an option for us because it is hard to organize on a chest freezer)

Bladder tank

With water shortage looming come summer next year, I've decided to prep this early since this time of year is low season for us anyway. All my previous pressure tank setups were the old SS pressure tank primed by a bigger SS/polyethylene storage tank. Worked well but with bladder tanks now locally available, I'm trying to decide if I should go with this relatively newer technology.

My plan is to hook up the bladder tank to a primer storage tank and hook it up to the 5 HP air compressor I already have. Gonna attach a regulator of course.

I'm just wondering why some local suppliers are using water pumps with these bladder tanks. Can they be primed just from the storage tank? Or do they really need a water pump?

To anyone who has a bladder tank setup, how long has the system held up for you? Any issues over the years?

I have a power sidemirror that comes from our Honda civic Vti (Local) and a JDM switch comes with the a built in relay and the pigtail/harness/socket. I know that the Vti sidemirror has no retract function.

I would just like to know if the (up.down.left.right) function will work if I will be using the jdm switch. Has anyone tried this before?

Cheaper alternatives to Motolite Gold 21 on a 2009 Kia Picanto MT

$

Back in Sept. 2017, I bought a Motolite Gold 21 for my 2009 Kia Picanto (MT). It died on me this month which is sadly not within warranty. So I traded it in for a new one. However, I think this will be my last one because with a trade in discount this battery is freaking expensive at P4,400.

I was wondering if there is any cheaper alternatives to this battery that's available locally? I'm from Cebu by the way.

My Kia Picanto has one of those locking mechanism in the battery tray that clamps to a tab at the bottom of the battery so I can't just go for the cheaper brands because I can't secure it to the battery tray since the cheaper one I've looked into do not have that tab on the bottom. Most battery brands I've looked also do not have this tab at the bottom. The tab I'm talking about is the one circled in red in the attached picture.

I really wanted to go with the cheaper Enduro but it did not have this tab. It was cheaper by P1,000 than the Gold 21. I was also considering a Panasonic battery but it also did not have the tab. :(

So here I am now asking folks here for help and feedback if there are any other cheaper alternatives for my future battery purchase for this car? If it helps the Picanto is my daily driver to work (Mondays to Fridays averaging 30KM a day). City driving.

Thanks for any help. :)
