Lost car key (with remote), but still have a duplicate/spare (also with remote), what should I do?

Went to Bohol with my car key (with remote) in my pocket. I know 100% that it was with me in Bohol since I purposely brought it with me since I did not want somebody to use my car when I was not around. In other words, my car was left at home in Cebu. Went back home in Cebu and could no longer remember how I lost my key and tried asking my relatives in Bohol to look for it but to no avail. I think I lost it somewhere in a public place. But could not say where.

I still have my duplicate key (with remote). What should I do? Should I have to change my car key or remote or both? Where to do that it casa? If not, what brand is best. My ride is a fortuner... Pls help....

Third Party Insurance Claim

Hi mga Sirs at Mams.

Sorry for posting here as I am not able to post on the Car Insurance thread yet. Hi hingi lang po ng inputs and advice with regards sa third party insurance claim.

Kinda long backstory. Bale may na dali po kaming kotse and ang tama po is sa front bumper na may konting chip sa right fender. Since we were at fault at wala rin silang comprehensive insurance, yung compre insurance po namin ang ginamit. Dahil more than 4 years na yung auto nila, sa third party shop na accredited ng insurance na lang yung covered at hindi sa casa. Dun sila parang naging picky, gusto kasi nila sa casa. Though hindi namang pipitsuging shop yung pinag dalhan. Nung nag check sila kasi nagpa sabay na sila ng repair dahil may ma laking gasgas yung auto nila, kinu question nila kung bakit hindi pinalitan yung buong fender panel. Inexplain sa kanila nung shop na sobrang minimal yung damage kaya hindi inadvice na palitan pero ayaw nila pumayag kasi kung sa casa daw papalitan daw yun. Nagde demand sila na palitan. Parang hindi nila alam yung kalakaran ng mga insurance na depende sa extent ng damage kung palitin. Sabi namin sige papa palitan na pero magta tagal pa yung auto nila sa shop na dapat for release na, pero dahil kailangan na nila ng service ku kunin na lang nila. Nung na kuha na nila hindi daw sila satisfied sa repair, though upon checking ma ayos naman yung pagkaka gawa ng shop. Tinanong ko sila kung satisfied ba sila dun sa pina repair nilang gasgas na sila ang nag bayad eh wala naman daw problema dun, maayos naman. Hindi na rin nila niraise yung sa fender na gusto nilang papalitan dahil siguro na kita nila na sobrang ayos naman. Pero ipapa authenticate daw nila sa casa yung mga repairs sa bumper.

Ang question ko is what if after nila ipa authenticate ang dami pa rin nilang reklamo? Para kasing ayaw nila sa hindi casa. Ang side naman namin is hindi naman namin sila tinakbuhan, insurance naman namin yung ginamit kasi aminado naman silang hindi nila afford magpa compre. Isn't that enough? Kung ako kasi nasa sitwasyon nila, I would've been satisfied basta maayos yung gawa. And the fact na yung dati nilang gasgas (na hindi nga daw nila mapa gawa noon dahil kulang ang funds) eh sa shop na rin nila pina repair at hindi sa casa eh okay sa kanila bakit yung sa nadali namin hindi.

Filipinos keep complaining that America stole their freedom, the US colonized the Philippines, the US murdered millions of Filipinos, they are not truly free from the US, the Philippines is poor because the US exists, all the problems that the Philippines has is caused by the US, blah blah blah blah blah.

Now, if that is so, why hasn't the Philippines destroyed the US and killed all Americans that way the Philippines can be free and rich?

tragis talaga na mga networkers ito. Nagkatraffic-traffic na hindi ako makaparada dahil binalandra mga panloloko na company cars pinang-aakit sa mga new applicants. Ang babata pa naman mga bolero bolera na. Wala ng hiya-hiya talaga sa public resto pa.

At ang hirap na makaupo kasi occupied nila puro kape pinag-oorder ng mga kumag.

ABS and Handbreak lights always on after battery discharge/jumpstart

Hello guys, just wanted to get your inputs if electrical or mechanical ung problem ko.

Last week, na-discharge ung battery ng car ko. I was able to jump start it with our other vehicle pero ngayon ung mga ilaw ng ABS and Handbreak is always on when I start the car. The handbreak works pero pag binitawan mo di nawawala ung on light nya.

Also while the engine is active, the readings from my voltmeter is around 12v lng. Tumataas lang to 13v when I step on the gas, pag idle naman, minsan nagdidip to 10-11v na lang before setting in the 12v range.

Battery is Motolite - around 18 months na ung age. Na discharge na rin sya once or twice before. Does this mean na malapit na mamatay ung battery kaya it messes up with the other electricals sa car? I read that a weak battery can make your other warning lights light up.

Hi guys, newbie po ako dito. Pwede pa-help naman po kung ano pwede gawin sa scratch na ganito?

Hindi po siya paint transfer, kasi red po ang nakatama. Tapos ramdam sa finger nail yung scratch, so sagad hanggang plastic ata yung scratch (kaya black yung scratch). Ano po pwedeng gawin sa scratch mismo, and dun sa scuffs na nasa baba ng scratch? Salamat po.

Questions on muffler installation

Hi guys, noob here. Plan ko po sana na magpalagay ng muffler, tunog lang po yung habol ko. May mga questions lang po ako.

1. Kung tunog lang ang habol ko, muffler tip lang ba papalitan nun? May gagalawin ba sa stock muffler (puputulin etc.)?

2. Balak ko sanang muffler is yung may angas lang, pag nagstart or nag rev pero hindi maingay and bass or mababa ang tunog. Ayaw ko sana ng iskandaloso. :) Anong muffler po maisusuggest niyo?

3. Pwede po ba magtest sa mga shop kung ano magiging tunog ng muffler niyo? Pano sasabihin sa shop kung anong muffler yung tunog ang gusto ko?

4. Kung mag papalagay ako ng body kits, dapat unahin ko muna ba yung kits before muffler? baka kasi sumayad sa rear bumper ko yung muffler.

Honda Civic 2013 po ang car ko, any suggestions po will be appreciated. Maraming salamat!

noise inside hood after turning off engine for more than 10 hours

this happened to my sister altis.

after removing the ignition key, getting out of the car and locking the car, my sister heard some noise inside the hood.

she tried to open the car but it wont work. then she tried to manually open the key manually pero matigas.

this happened before midnight and it stopped after 10 hours.

dumating ang toyota technician and with both hands on the manual key he was able to open the door. all are good. battery is not flat.

very strange. you might have heard the same situation.

Good day Tsikoters, i'll just seeking a piece of advise/suggestions/opinons from you guys regarding our van,

may effect po ba pag misaligned yung steering wheel sa gulong (may consequence po ba sa sasakyan yun pag di ko sya pinaayos)

and

regular water lang ba yung nilalagay dun sa radiator or coolant dapat kung ilagay? wala na kasi yung driver namen na nagmamaintain sa sasakyan namen e, ( nakastock lang yung van namen :( ...)

Diesel Engine vs Gas Engine During Long Periods of Idling...

I usually see owners/drivers of vans (Hi-Ace, Urvan, Starex, and the like) running their engines with the aircon on for several minutes like for more than 30mins to an hour at the parking area. I know these are diesel engines. But is this okay? What are its adverse effects, if any? Fuel consumption? Is this practice ok because they are vans? what about SUVs doing this, what would be their difference?

How about those cars on gas engines also doing this practice of running their engines with the aircon on for several minutes?

Pls enlighten me on this. I am not doing this to my ride (Fortuner Diesel AT 2016), but still I am curious.

Hello Tsikot Family.

We are currently deciding between the following:
- 2018/2019 Toyota Innova 2.8 AT (Diesel)
- 2018 Mitsubishi Montero Sports 2.4 GLS AT 2WD (Diesel)

I deliberately omitted the variant options as my request for feedback will be on the following:
- Approximate average fuel consumption (Km/l): Daily drive including rush hour and when out of town/long drive
- Quality of ride/suspension
- PMS/Maintenance cost - what is your average PMS bill
- After sales service survey (CASA): actual experience - Very good, satisfactory, needs improvement, poor, terrible
- Did you encounter any issues with your unit? If yes, please share the info

For those who owns both or have driven both - which one has better overall performance (driving-wise - i.e. driver comfort, ease of driving, power)

P.S. We have test drives scheduled for both units but soliciting for feedback here based actual owners experience for additional reference

Ito ah bago lahat naawa ako doon sa babae. Lantang-gulay na.

Pero as a motorist eh napaisip ako ano ginawa nyan para pitikin sya ng pwet ng kotse. Honestly ilan beses na ako nag-iimagine na makaganti sa mga mokong na motorcyle na cut ng cut, overtake, Hindi tumitingin pag lumiliko. Parang tingin nila eh pedestrian sila na kotse ang automatic hihinto. Yang nangyari sa video eh ilan beses ko naisip na ganyan mismo gagawin kaso takot ako dahil kalat na cctv at smartphone. At ayoko makulong sa bilibid kita mo na lang itsura gaano kadugyot nakakawala ng dangal so philippine prison is not worth taking a risk.

Sa tinngin ko kung mautak yang si kotse eh igagarahe na yan. Papaabutin one year bago ipabody works. Sesecretuhin hindi na magkukwento. Kung may isa pa sya kotse at malaki garahe nya eh create a "new accident" - But problem sa ganito eh you need the cooperation ng kasama mo sa bahay. Baka pumiyok yan. Sabi nga eh the best crime eh yung nagiisa ka lang.

Kung gusto nya talaga malinis eh ichopchop mo na yan.

Pero if nagtrip lang si kotse eh salvage na agad. Palabasin na lang nanlaban.

So ito para sa mga motorcycle sa kaangasan nyo = Nadamay yung umangkas. Kita nyo gaano kavulnerable na pinitik lang ng kotse eh nagpatalbog-talbog na yung katawan sa kalsada.

So as always maging matino sa kalsada lalo na kung may kasama. Wag feeling schumy, Wag feeling motocross. Nakakamatay yan.

Does anyone know of a fabricator who can produce the railing design shown below?



The handrails and posts are easy enough to produce, but I haven't seen anyone do these with braided SS cable.

Is it okay to replace the vibration damper with an aftermarket that is heavier than original?

So I have a car that is making a squeaky noise. The mechanic suggested I change my vibration damper. The original was too expensive, so I bought a cheap Chinese replacement. It was a bit heavier than the original. Then when it was installed. The sound went back to normal. After around 4 days, there was a squeaky and loud rough noise. Upon having it checked by 2 mechanics, they said it was the belt tensioner. The first mechanic proved it to me by using a wrench and tightening the system, and the noise went away. So I bought a tensioner and had it replaced. Now there's another sound. It's very different from the sounds before. It was whiny. I had it checked again and was told the compressor needs replacing soon. The mechanic told me that I should just wait for it to die, and that the compressor wouldn't affect the engine, only the AC.

There is also a squeaky noise from the belt during start. But when the engine gets going, it disappears. So I went to an AC store to have the compressor checked. I was told that it was still okay, but the pulley is wrattling, and that I needed to tighten the belt or replace it.

I was wondering. Did the heavy vibration damper cause this?

Or did the other parts start dying down because of the tension from the stronger newly replaced vibration damper?
