Camaro '82 engine replacement suggestion

I have a 3rd gen '82 camaro, currently undergoing body repair. I want to replace the engine (v6) with a strong enough diesel engine to power the heavy body.

Any suggestion for the engine?

It's more of a restoration project for me since it was left in the garage since 2011. Body repairs. engine replacement. interiors. painting. Advise and tips from you guys would be highly appreciated.
