Motor oil for Alterra

Hi guys,

I was talking to a guy from Rapide and he said many isuzu alterra goes to their service center for PMS. He said they are using 5w-40 synthetic oil for diesel engines. I asked him if ok to use Mobil 1 5w-40 diesel and he said yes, as long as spec is 5w-40 it should be ok.

Is this correct?

Any of you actually used obil 1 diesel in your alterras?
