Matte paint finish?

I am about to purchase a car with a Matt paint finish.
My first time to have a car with this type of paint.
anyone here have experience on its maintenance?
Do you use a regular wax? Do you still buff it?
is it advisable to put PPF or Ceramic Coat on it?
